I said in the last post there was something else in the works. Time to say a little more — emphasis on a little.
Working title: Open City. That'll probably change before anyone outside this devlog ever hears it, but it's what's on the project folder for now, so it's what I'm calling it here too.
What It Is
A paranormal investigation game, set in a city that very much does not want to admit what's living in it. That's genuinely as much as I'm saying about premise today — not because there's nothing to tell, but because half the fun of an early devlog is watching an idea take shape in public without spoiling the shape before it's earned.
The Engine Question, Take Two
Unreal Engine 5 again — but this time I went straight to C++, no detour through Blueprints. Safe Zone taught me that lesson the expensive way, so at least this project got to skip the tuition fee.
Why Now
Because apparently "start small" was advice I gave other people, not myself. Safe Zone's still very much alive — more on that soon — and now there's this too. I'm aware of how that sounds. I've made my peace with it.
More when there's more to show. For now: paranormal, Unreal, C++, and a working title that already has an expiry date.
